On Monday, accompanied by Democratic and Republican leaders, Al Gore gave a speech entitled “The US Constitution in Grave Danger”. Not relevant to you? Freedom of communication is at the very heart of the ongoing abuses of power by the current administration. Do yourself a favor. Do your grandchildren a favor. Read the speech.

Within the next ten years the income tax system in the United States will be dismantled. A number of emerging new forces coupled with the universal dislike of the system will soon gain enough of a toehold to cause it to collapse. State income tax systems will be dismantled either shortly thereafter or at the same time. It is a system that has mushroomed out of control, and few will morn its parting.
OK, this is a little off the beaten course for this blog, but this is a very interesting article on the possible future of the IRS and U.S. Taxation. Check it out.
Finally, it has started. People have begun to speak of impeaching President George W. Bush–not in hushed whispers but openly, in newspapers, on the Internet, in ordinary conversations and even in Congress. As a former member of Congress who sat on the House Judiciary Committee during the impeachment proceedings against President Richard Nixon, I believe they are right to do so.
Indeed. It is about time this groundswell started. I listened to Bush stumping in KY earlier this week and my stomach turned. The man has some very, very serious disconnects from reality.
Unsure of the need for impeachment? Read Holtzman’s essay. It is the most succinct, dispassionate and clear dissertation on the problem one will ever find.
