I was fortunate to work for United Cerebral Palsy in the late 80’s early 90’s when the wheelchair really started to evolve from something used almost exclusively by the able-bodied to transport people with disabilities. I remember people scoffing at the term “wheelchair athlete”. Back then, the phrase almost exclusively applied to bowlers, fisherman and hunters.
This was a time long before Murderball. Now, we have this young man, and many more like him, redefining the boundaries of “ability” and sport. Rock on!
My buddy David loved that bit about peanut butter disproving evolution. So, he took a little time and did this artistic interpretation of evolution in a peanut butter jar. Enjoy!
The biggest problem with this argument (and others like it) is that it selectively ignores important elements of the equation. For example, life cannot exist (or be generated) in a vacuum. In general, food packaging is vacuum sealed. So, one conciously excluded fact disproves their inane argument.
This sort of intellectual dishonesty makes America a more ignorant and backwards nation everyday. Speaking as a Christian, this stupidity retards Christ’s message more than it advances it. So, stop and think. Evolution and the creation are not mutually exclusive. Truly learn the science and you will more likely see God’s hand in it than not.
Spend a few minutes to watch the most touching series ofcommercials I have ever seen. I am not embarrased to admit that two of them brought tears to my eyes. These commercials are great examples that, with talented writers, actors and crews, you do not need 90 minutes to tell a moving story. Watch all five.
